Police arrested a man from his home at Lakkhanpur village of Phulbari upazila in Dinajpur on Saturday, in a case filed for raping a schoolgirl and spreading the video of the incident on social media.
The arrested was identified as Sirajul Islam,30, said Phulbari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Fakhrul Islam.
"Police arrested the accused after the victim's mother filed a case under the Women and Children Repression and Prevention Act and the Pornography Control Act" said the OC.
According to the case statement, the accused Sirajul , who runs a grocery at Pathokpara Bazar of the upazila, raped the girl and filmed the incident on his mobile phone. The accused also spread the video on social media.
