A total of 32 more people including six police members tested positive for Covid-19 in Tangail, taking the total number of infected to 508 people in the district.
A sub-inspector, three constables, an official at the police lines and an additional superintendent of police of Tangail river police outpost are among the newly infected.
The district's Civil Surgeon Dr Md Wahiduzzaman confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Friday morning.
As of now 20 police members tested positive for the virus in the district. Meanwhile, 11 people died of the deadly disease.
