A teenage boy has been arrested for attempting to rape a four-year-old child in Murli of Jessore.
The accused, a 15-year-old boy lured the child, who was playing beside his house on Sunday, to an abandoned room nearby and attempted to rape her, police say.
When the injured child went to her home and informed her mother, the family took her to Jessore General Hospital for treatment.
“The family filed a complaint against the boy and we arrested him afterwards,” said Kotwali police station OC Md Moniruzzaman.
“We will be producing him before the court on Tuesday,” added the OC.
