Two farmers have gone missing after a boat they were on sank in Padma River in Natore.
The incident took place at Lakshmipur Balu Ghat area in Lalpur upazila at around 4pm on Sunday.
The missing farmers, identified as Selim and Pukin are from Balitata Islampur village of the upazila, said Lalpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Selim Reza.
Selim said six farmers were returning to home on a boat after harvesting nut in their fields. At one point, the boat lost control and sank in the river due to strong wind.
"However, four of the farmers managed to swim ashore, while rest remained missing." the OC said.
"Divers are conducting a search for the missing farmers." he added.
