A woman has been stabbed to death allegedly by her husband in Joypurhat's Akkelpur upazila.
Police arrested Mehedi Hasan after a case was filed against him over the murder by the victim's father.
The victim Rojina Begum, is from Harishara village of the upazila and reportedly an 18 year old. Her body was recovered from Gurumba Purbapara village early Saturday.
On Friday night, Mehedi took his second wife Rojina from her father's home after which her body was discovered with stab wounds by the road in Gurumba Purbapara village, according to police and the victim's family.
Rojina's father Mokbul Hossain said his daughter was married only one and a half months ago, and claimed that his son-in-law Mehedi has committed the murder.
Akkelpur police station officer-in-charge Abu Obayed said the body has been sent for an autopsy and legal actions will be taken after an investigation.
