9 areas declared Red Zone in Bogra

The areas are Chelowpara, Nataipara, Naruli, Joleshwaritala, Sutrapur, Maltinagar, Thanthania, Haripara and Colony

Nine areas under Bogra municipality were declared red zone  in a bid to rein in the rise of Covid-19 cases .

The areas are Chelowpara, Nataipara, Naruli, Joleshwaritala, Sutrapur, Maltinagar, Thanthania, Haripara and Colony.

The decision came after an emergency meeting between the district coronavirus control and prevention committee and the civil surgeon of Bogra , said a press release, signed by Deputy Commissioner Foyez Ahmed.

All types of public gathering in these areas were banned. Everybody in the areas have to stay home. Non-government vehicles, servicing Covid-19 patients, should have permission from the district administration.

The vehicles of doctors, journalists and ambulances will be out of the restrictions, the press release said.

Bogra has so far reported 1,274 Covid-19 cases including 17 deaths, according to the district health authorities.
