Police on Friday recovered the bodies of a couple and their teenage daughter from their house in Dilalpur area of Pabna Sadar upazila in the district.
The deceased were identified as a former official of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank Abdul Jabbar, 64, his wife Chhumma Khatun, 50 and their daughter Sanjida Khatun, 14.
Nasim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Pabna Sadar police station, said they recovered the bodies and sent them for autopsy.
Police primarily suspect that robbers stabbed them to death and looted their valuables from their house two or three days ago.
Locals said they noticed a foul smell coming from the house and when they looked through the window, the saw bodies lying motionless on beds with flies swarming over them. They immediately called the police.
Pabna Superintendent of Police Sheikh Rafiqul Islam said: “We will know more about the incident when the forensics team from Rajshahi arrives on sight to conduct a sweep of the crime scene.”
