Case filed over raid at Narsingdi militant den

Update : 22 May 2017, 01:08 PM
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has filed a case against seven people over the raid at a suspected militant hideout in Narsingdi’s Gabtoli. The accused include detainees Salauddin and Abu Zafar. “RAB 11 Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) Abdur Rahman filed the case under Anti-Terrorism Act around 12 noon Monday,” Narsingdi sadar police OC Golam Mostafa told the Dhaka Tribune. On Saturday, RAB cordoned off a two-storey under-construction building in the area, suspecting a few militants were holed up inside, but those inside the building claimed that they were not militants. The elite force detained five people during the raid at the suspected militant den. Later, they handed over three of the detainees to their families as no evidence of their involvement in militant activities was found. However, a RAB official claimed that evidence of militant links was found against two other detainees – Salauddin and Abu Zafar.
