Law enforcement agencies have handed over three people detained from a suspected militant den in Narsingdi’s Gabtoli to their families.
“We found no evidence that they were involved in militant activities,” RAB 11 Captain Lt Col Kamrul Hasan said.
Those released are grade X student Masudur Rahman, Narsingdi Government College's final year student of Basikul Islam and visitor Mashiur Rahman.
However, evidence of militant links were found against two others – Salauddin and Abu Zafar – detained with the trio, the RAB officer claimed.
“We have found some evidence [of militant links] against the two men,” he said. “They will be accused in a case.”
On Saturday, RAB cordoned off a two-storey under-construction building in the area, suspecting a few militants were holed up inside, but those inside the building claimed that they were not militants.
