BGB distributes Bidyanondo relief to the poor in Brahmanbaria, Sylhet

The support package includes rice, flour, lentil, oil, semolina and salt

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has started distributing relief goods received from the Bidyanondo Foundation, among poor families in Brahmanbaria and Sylhet whose livelihoods have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The support package includes rice, flour, lentil, oil, semolina, and salt, which will be distributed to 1,000 vulnerable families.

In Brahmanbaria, the BGB- 25 battalion distributed relief goods to 200 families in Gosaisthol Bazar and Colonel Bazar of Kashba and Akhaura upazilas on Friday.

Present for the distribution ceremony were, BGB- 25 Battalion Commander Ltd Colonel Md Mizanur Rahman, Kasba upazila Nirbahi Officer Masud Ul Alom, and Kasba police station Officer-in-Charge Lokman Hossain.

Their distribution effort began on May 5 and will end on May 9.

Meanwhile,  the BGB-19 battalion finished distributing relief goods to 1,000 poor families in Zakiganj upazila of Sylhet, on Friday.

Their distribution programme began on May 6, according to a BGB- 19 battalion press release.
