Kotwali Police Station in Rangpur city has been put under lockdown after its officer-in-charge (OC) was diagnosed with the new coronavirus (Covid-19).
Samples of ten police officials were collected for tests and among them six police officials who came in close contact with the OC were sent to home quarantine, said Civil Surgeon Hirambo Kumar Roy to Dhaka Tribune.
The health authorities took the decision to transfer all the activities of the station to a nearby building under the Victim Support Centre in the city, the civil surgeon said.
A total of 11 new people including the OC tested positive for coronavirus in the city yesterday, added Civil Surgeon Hirambo.
