10-month old recovers from Covid-19 in Chittagong

The baby boy was admitted to hospital on April 22

A 10-month-old baby has been discharged from Chittagong General Hospital after recovering from Covid-19.

Hospital Superintendent Dr Ashim Kumar Nath confirmed the matter to  Dhaka Tribune on Saturday.

Dr Ashim said the baby boy was released from hospital at noon after he recovered fully from the coronavirus infection.

“The baby boy from Joara in Chandanaish upazila of Chittagong, was admitted to the hospital on April 22."

"His father is abroad. He has been released after two Covid-19 tests proved to be negative,” said Dr Ashim.

As of Friday, 78 patients including 61 men and 17 women tested positive for Covid-19 in Chittagong.

So far, 18 patients have returned home after recovering from the deadly viral diseaseS while six patients have died of Covid-19 in Chittagong.

Currently, 55 patients are undergoing treatment at the isolation units of the two hospitals in Chittagong, while 234 people are now in home quarantine.
