A football player from Ghana, who was jailed in a drug case, died in police custody at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Frank En Tim Tham, 40.
Senior Jail Superintendent Md Kamal Hossain said Frank was in jail for the past four months in a drug case, reports UNB.
He was hospitalised after he fell sick with fever and cough on Wednesday, he said.
He died of septic shock, Hossain said quoting the doctors.
Officer-in-Charge of Bakolia police station Nezam Uddin said police arrested two foreigners including Frank along with yaba pills from Shah Amanat area on January 4.
The duo had been playing for different clubs in Bangladesh, he said.
