3 police officers withdrawn in Sreepur

It is reportedly a part of routine procedure

Three police officers have been withdrawn from Sreepur Model police station and attached to Gazipur police lines.

The order came on Tuesday night.

However, Gazupur Additional Police Superintendent (Crime) AKM Jahirul Islam confirmed that the withdrawal is a part of routine procedure.

The withdrawn officers are Sreepur Model police station Inspector (Operation) Md Tarikuzzaman, Inspector (Investigation) Khandaker Sohel Rana and Sub-Inspector Abu Zafar Mollah, who was the investigating officer of the mother and three children murder case.

Jahirul Islam also said, Golam Sarwar of Kaliganj police station has been appointed as the new inspector (Operation) in Sreepur Model police station and Moniruzzaman Khan of Kaliakair police station as the inspector (Investigation).

Previously on Thursday evening, police recovered the dead bodies of a mother, her two daughters and a son from their house in Jainabazar area in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur.

Miscreants had killed them on Wednesday night by hacking at them and then slitting their throats.

The deceased were expatriate Redwan Hossain Kajal’s wife, an Indonesian citizen, Smriti Akhter Fatema, 45, their daughters Sabrina Sultana Nura, 16, Hawarin, 12 and son Fadil, 8.

Fatema’s father filed a case against the unidentified murderers at Sreepur police station.

Later on Sunday, Gazipur Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested the suspect Kishore Parvez, 17, son of Kazim Uddin of the same village.
