Officer-in-Charge of Rangpur DB police Jahid Hossain said that they had arrested Matin from Mithapukur area Friday morning.
“We arrested Matin in line with a court order. After his arrest, the convict identified himself as an Awami League leader,” OC Jahid added.
According to court sources, Matin was tried in absentia in the robbery case and given the jail term by a Nilphamari court last year.
