Four doctors and another healthcare worker of Lohagara Upazila Health Complex have tested positive for the new coronavirus on Wednesday morning.
Civil Surgeon Dr Md Abdul Momen said they had sent eight samples to be tested on Tuesday and of them, five came back as positive.
The health department says the patients' samples have been collected once again and will be sent for the test once more, while for the time being, they will remain in home-quarantine.
Meanwhile, the local administration has locked down the entire upazila to avoid further community transmission of the virus.
So far, the district has recorded six confirmed cases out of a total of 64 test results received. Of those six, the first diagnosed patient made full recovered and was sent home Tuesday.
