RMG worker gang raped by boyfriend, his friends in Savar

Four youths have allegedly gang raped a readymade garment worker in Hemayetpur, Savar. The woman showed up at Savar model police station on Wednesday morning and told them of the rape. She told the police that a man named Abdur Rahim, 24, whom she was acquainted with over phone, met her at Savar Bazar bus-stand while she was heading back home from work on Tuesday night. He invited her to his home in Tetuljhora area. There, he and three other unknown men raped and tortured her throughout the night before throwing her out in the morning. Police sent the victim to the One Stop Crisis Centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11am. Savar model station’s Officer-in-Charge SM Qamruzzaman said police had raided the address she provided but did not find anyone there.
