An Oman returnee died at home on Thursday morning at Jalalpur village of Dowarabazar upazila in Sunamganj.
The man died suffering from severe abdominal pain when he was in home quarantine as advised by local health care officials, said the victim’s family.
The family members claimed that the man had no symptoms of coronavirus and was troubled by abdominal pain for a long time. They also said a village doctor injected pain reducing medicine to him after which he passed away.
Community Health Care Provider (CHCP) Md Kamal Miya of Jalalpur community clinic said: “The deceased's family has no documents that can verify his illness, however, the man didn’t have any coronavirus symptoms either.”
Mannargaon Union Parishad Member Md Sabbir Ahmed said Joynal returned to the country on March 18, after two years of his stay in Oman.
