A woman was killed in a road accident in Savar.
The incident occurred around 4 pm near Ashulia’s Narsinghpur area on Wednesday.
The deceased, Jobaida, 35, was hit by an unidentified pickup truck while she was crossing the road.
A pedestrian named Mojammel later took a critically injured Jobaida to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 7 pm where on-duty doctors announced her dead.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, DMCH police outpost In-Charge Inspector Bachchu Mia, said: “The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue. We have informed Ashulia police station regarding the matter.”
Meanwhile, Jobaida’s nephew, Sabdul Islam, said: “My aunt used to work at a local madrasa. She used to live with her husband and only child named Ayat.
“However, her husband is currently in India for kidney treatment.”
