Three Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) employees were detained when they went to collect instalments in Hajipara and Gowalpara on Wednesday.
The locals informed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Mamun, and he caught the three personnel red-handed. Afterward, the UNO handed them over to the Deputy Commissioner's office and DC Dr Kamruzzaman Selim released them after giving them proper warning, say the DC office sources.
Earlier, The UNO along with the DC declared that until the coronavirus outbreak gets under control and living situation becomes normal, no instalments should be collected from the locals, said UNO Abdullah Al Mamun.
