Senior Assistant Commissioner (RDC) Nazim Uddin has now been accused of using an illicit source of income to build a luxurious home at his maternal grandparents’ hometown of Kashipur in Khodapara union under Manirampur upazila in Jessore.
According to local sources, Nazim is the eldest son of late Nesar Ali and Mazeda Begum. Nesar Ali was a day labourer and Mazda worked as household help in Kashipur. They worked hard to give Nazim a good education. He later went on to join the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) in 2014.

Locals now wonder how Nazim, within just six years into his profession, is able to finance such a building.
In light of recent allegations surfacing about Nazim, locals now suspect he might be using illicit sources to fund his extravagant home. They urged the government to look into his income source.

Nazim’s wife Sabina said: “My sister and I received the land from my father. My sister’s husband, who lives in the US, and we are constructing the building together.”

Earlier, on Monday Nazim Uddin and two other magistrates of Kurigram were withdrawn for their alleged involvement in torturing Dhaka Tribune journalist Ariful Islam Rigan.
