BGB receives body of businessman murdered at Comilla border

India's Border Security Force (BSF) handed over the body to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a flag meeting at Motinagar border in the Upazila on Sunday evening

Body of a Bangladeshi businessman–who was killed reportedly by his rival in India over money owed – was brought back to Comilla after 25 hours.

The deceased was identified as Anwar Miah of Nishchintapur village near the border in Comilla Sadar Upazila.

India's Border Security Force (BSF) handed over the body to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a flag meeting at Motinagar border in the Upazila on Sunday evening.

BGB 60 Medical Officer Captain Modassirul Islam said that after Anwar's death on Saturday, India's Shonamura police station had taken his body for an autopsy.

Family members of the deceased alleged that Kamrul, of UNC Nagar village under Shonamura police station in India, had beaten Anwar to death by luring him across the border by promising to pay back the money he owed.
