Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Khondoker Mostafizur Rahman has been injured in a road accident in Gazipur.
The incident occurred in Rajendrapur intersection of Gazipur metropolis around 9:30am on Saturday, Joydebpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jabedul Islam told Dhaka Tribune.
He said: "Mostafizur was going to National University in Gazipur to participate in a special senate session. The SUV, carrying Mostafizur crashed into a road divider after its driver lost control over the steering as he was trying to avoid hitting a private car.
The injured divisional commissioner was taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur for treatment, he added.
The hospital's residential medical officer Rafiqul Islam said: "The commissioner suffered injuries on his head, hands and legs."
However, he is out of any danger now, Rafiqul assured.
