The bodies of five people, including women and children, have been recovered from Kaptai Lake after a boat capsized near the DC Bungalow area in Rangamati.
The incident happened on Friday.
The deceased were from Chittagong's Kotwali area, and went to Kaptai Lake for a picnic. They are yet to be identified, said Kotwali police station Officer-in Charge (OC) Nurul Islam.
"The rescue operation is underway," he added.
Meanwhile, three others went missing as another boat capsized in Karnaphuli canal under Kaptai upazila, said Kaptai Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ashraf Ahmed Russel.
