Bangladesh Navy detained 26 Indian fishermen, and seized two fishing trawlers that were fishing illegally inside Bangladeshi maritime boundary in Bagerhat.
The identities of the detained are yet to be confirmed.
A team of navy arrested 26 Indian fishermen and seized two fishing trawlers –FB Shongkho Pradeep and Maa Mangal– from the Bay of Bengal on Saturday evening , said Md Ahad, Sub Inspector(SI) of Mongla police station.
A case was filed against them under the Maritime Zones Act and they will be sent to Bagerhat jail on Sunday morning, he added.
