A youth has been arrested from Thakurgaon Road area under Sadar upazila for raping a speech-impaired teenager girl.
Ashraful Islam violated the girl in Garea area of the same upazila five days ago.
On Monday, the victim's mother filed a case with Sadar police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 2000.
According to the complainant, Ashraful found the girl home alone at noon on April 29. He entered the house and raped the girl.
At one point, the neighbours came to her rescue hearing screams and broke open the door.
However, Ashraful managed to escape the scene.
Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Moshiur Rahman said they had arrested the rapist from the house of one Kazi of Thakurgaon Road area on Thursday evening.
