A young man has been killed as a fire broke out at a bakery in Khulna.
The fire originated from the oven of the bakery called Popular Bakery in Khulna town around 2:20am on Saturday.
The deceased - Moinul Haque, 15, was a worker of the bakery and hailed from Brahmanbaria.
On information, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire nearly two hours later.
Khulna Fire Service and Civil Defense Boyra unit Station Offices Sayeeduzzaman told Dhaka Tribune that they went back after extinguishing the fire at night.
Then, they began their rescue operation in the morning and found Moinul's body from the remains of the burned bakery.
Khulna Fire service control room sources said the fire spread quickly to nearby houses and a few of them were gutted by the fire. The locals informed fire service after they failed to put out the fire themselves.
Locals also complained that fire fighters took a lot of time to bring the fire under control as there was not enough water.
