12 killed in road accidents

The incidents took place in nine different districts

At least twelve people were killed and many others injured in separate road on roads across the country yesterday.

In Mymensingh, three people were killed when a truck smashed an auto-rickshaw in Shashar Bazar area under Tarakanda upazila last morning.

One of the deceased was identified as Babul Mia, 23, the driver of the auto-rickshaw, a resident of Autdar village in the upazila.

In Sirajganj, two men were killed and 19 others were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a bus on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara Highway in Ullapara upazila last morning.

Police identified the deceased as truck driver Raju Ahmed, 28, and his assistant Hamjala Rony, 22, hailing from Nondigram upazila.

In Magura, a young man was killed and another injured when a truck hit a motorbike on the Magura-Boalmari road over Sheikh Hasina Bridge in Mohammadpur upazila.

The deceased Yeasin Molla, 21, was son of Mujibur Rahman of Mousha village in the upazila.

In Rangpur, a man was killed when a tractor ran him over on the Pirgonj-Laldighi road in Pirgonj upazila last morning.

The deceased was Md Bhutto, 28, of Kishorebari village in the upazila.

In Chapainawabganj, a woman was killed when a truck hit a motorbike on the Hatbaikol-Nezampur road in Nachol upazila last morning.

The deceased Jesmin Khatun, 27, was of Nezampur village.

In Habiganj, a man was killed when an auto-rickshaw ran him over in Chunarughat, 

The deceased Kalachan Das, was of Laskar village in Sadar upazila.

In Madaripur, a seven-year-old schoolboy was killed when tractor hit him at Lundi village in Rajoir upazila last morning. 

In Narsingdi, a woman was killed when a bus hit her at Telikanda village in Shibpur upazila last morning.

The deceased Ayesha Begum, 65, was of the village.

In Tangail, a motorcyclist was killed as a bus hit his bike on the Tangail-Bangabandhu road in Kalihati upazila last afternoon.

Police sources concerned confirmed the deaths and identifies of the deceased to Dhaka Tribune.
