The inclusion of names of freedom fighters and pro-liberation individuals in the first instalment of the Razakar list has generated a wave of anger in Bogra.
According to the first instalment of the list containing the names and addresses of Razakars published by Ministry of Liberation War Affairs on Sunday, there are a total of 30 Pakistani collaborators from Adamdighi upazila in Bogra.
This correspondent was able to identify at least seven people from the list who are not Razakars, in fact are freedom fighters, one is a former lawmaker and the others are local veteran Awami League leaders.
The freshly announced Razakar list includes the names of Kosim Uddin Ahmed, freedom fighter and former Awami League MP; Monsur Ali, a freedom fighter and a wartime commander of the liberation force; Jahan Ali, freedom fighter.
The list also contains the names of Amirul Islam, Foyez Uddin Ahmed, Majibur Rahman, and Taher Uddin Sardar, who are all Awami League leaders.
Local ruling party leaders during an event held on Tuesday to honour the freedom fighters of Adamdighi upazila in Bogra, expressed their anger and dissatisfaction and condemned the flawed Razakar list which contains the names of people who fought for the country and supported Bangladesh's independence.
Abdul Hamid, Adamdighi upazila Liberation War commander, said: "This list of Razakars was a political motive.
"How come the names of those who fought to free the country, who have been leaders and activists of Awami League for so long been included in the list?"
"Those who are responsible for this debacle needs to be punished," he added.
