Three policemen, including the officer-in-charge of Batiaghata police station, have been taken off duty for violating a court order in Khulna.
The punitive action was taken against Batiaghata police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rabiul Islam, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Mikail Hossain, and Kamrul Islam.
Khulna (South) Additional Superintendent of police station (ASP) Abul Kalam confirmed the matter.
He said: "The policemen were taken off duty in order to maintain the investigational integrity of the court order."
Earlier, a court issued a status quo in a case filed over a disputed land. However, the policemen tried to arrange an arbitration between the two parties, violating the court order.
"They were closed to the district police lines as there was allegation of financial transaction in connection with the matter," ASP Abul added.
