Train movement in Chittagong-Dohazari route has been resumed after five hours following the engine of a train caught fire.
The incident took place at Kanchanagar Saiadabad in Chandanish upazila on Wednesday night.
The train movement became normal around 2am after a relief train from Sholoshor Station reached the spot, reports UNB.
Dohazari Station Master Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury said the engine of the passenger train caught fire while crossing the Kanchanagar Station around 9pm.
“The loco master stopped the train as soon as he noticed the fire,” Iqbal added.
Later, a firefighting unit went to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
No casualty was reported.
