At least two people were injured after a police shotgun accidentally discharged at Poet Nazrul Auditorium area of Sylhet.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Zedan Al Musa confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Monday.
He said: “The service shotgun of a police constable, who was on duty with a Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) truck, accidentally went off due the huge crowding near the truck. Two people, who were passing nearby, received minor injuries from the mishap.”
The injured are Chandra Kanta Singha, a resident of Moulvibazar, and a woman whose name could not be confirmed, were given primary treatment and released, the police official said.
“Police is also investigating the incident,” the ADC added.
