Police have arrested a Jamaat-e-Islami ameer in cases filed on charges of sabotage in Chittagong.
He was arrested from Rahattarpole area under Bakalia unit on early Saturday.
The Jamaat leader - Abul Mansur - was the ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Bakalia unit.
Confirming the arrest, Md Nejam Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bakalia police station told Dhaka Tribune that the Jamaat leader is accused in five sabotage cases filed with Bakalia police station.
The process to produce the arrestee before the court is underway, he added.
