Rail communications have resumed along Dhaka-Narayanganj route after being suspended for five hours following a train derailment.
“Rail communications have resumed around 7:45pm and workers have started repair work,” Government Railway Police (GRP) Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Ali Akhbar confirmed Dhaka Tribune on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, a Diesel Electric Metropolitan Unit (Demu) train derailed along the Kamalapur-Narayanganj route around 1:40pm.
“Four wheels of a Demu train, which was headed towards Narayanganj from Kamalapur station, derailed at Pagla Wasa area. The derailment snapped rail communications along the Dhaka-Narayanganj route,” said Narayanganj Central Rail Station Master Golam Mostafa
Meanwhile, train schedules of Dhaka-Narayanganj-Dhaka route had been changed.
