Madrasa student kills classmate with cricket bat

A madrasa student has died after he was severely beaten up with a cricket bat by his classmate at Daulatpur in Kushtia. The dead is Hasibul Islam, 15, son of Ejajul Haque of Golabari village. He was a student of Golabari Dakhil Madrasa. He was playing cricket with his classmate Rajon near the field of the village on Friday afternoon. At one stage, they locked into a scuffle over the game and Razon hit Hasibul on his head with the bat, leaving him critically injured, according to AKM Fazlul Haque Kabiraj, chairman of Philipnagar Union Parishad. Locals rescued Hasibul and took him to Upazila Health Complex from where he was shifted to Kushtia General Hospital. The doctors later sent him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. Hasibul died at the hospital around 7am on Saturday. Ahmmed Kabir, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur police, said that he had been informed about the incident. No case has been filed over the incident.
