A mobile court has sent six people to prison for abusing contraband drugs in Dinajpur on Tuesday morning.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdur Rafiul Alam passed the orders in multiple anti-drug drives in different areas of Hili border in Hakimpur upazila, which began Monday afternoon.
The accused Mostafa Kamal, 27, Forman Ali, 28, Nayan Miya, 30, Dukhu Molla, 25, Saju Miya, 35 and Isahak Hossain, 30, were given different jail sentences and fined with Tk100 each.
Hakimpur police station OC Anwar Hossain said: “Acting on a tip-off, the mobile court conducted several drives along the border areas of Hili from Monday afternoon and arrested six drug abusers."
Next morning, the mobile court sentenced Mostafa, Nayan, and Forman to two months, Dukhu and Saju to 45 days, and Isahak to three months jail, he added
