‘Bombs recovered in N'ganj raid similar to those used in Dhaka blasts’

CTTC chief said they recovered huge amount of explosives from the dens

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit chief Monirul Islam has said the bombs recovered in Narayanganj raids are similar to the ones used in recent blasts in Dhaka. 

He made the statement while briefing reporters after the raid in Fatullah area of the district around 12:30pm on Monday.

Monirul said: "We have found similarities between the bombs recovered here [Narayaganj] with the ones used in recent blasts in Dhaka."

Earlier in the day, CTTC unit raided two suspected militant dens this morning and detained three people.

Recent blasts in Dhaka

On August 31, two police officials sustained injuries after an improvised bomb exploded in front of a police box in Dhaka's Science Lab intersection.

The blast took place when LGRD Minister Tazul Islam’s vehicle was passing through the area.

On July 24, police defused two bomb-like objects at Paltan intersection and Khamarbari’s Bangabandhu Chattar in Dhaka.
