A one and a half year old infant girl was raped in Rajoir upazila of Madaripur on Tuesday.
The child was immediately taken to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex and later transferred to Madaripur Sadar Hospital for better treatment.
The girl’s father filed a case with Rajoir police station yesterday afternoon.
According to the case statement, a relative, Hridoy Bhakta, 21, had come to visit them. He took the child out for a walk on Tuesday morning and brought her back, severely injured and in tears. Hridoy left her with her parents and fled from the house.
The child’s mother said: “I cannot believe my little child was violated like that. I want severe punishment for that man.”
Rajoir police station OC Md Shahjahan said: “A case was recorded and the accused will soon be arrested.”
