Yaba worth Tk40cr seized in two days

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has recovered 9,80,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets worth over Tk29.4cr from Noyapara area in Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf upazila. With this haul, BGB seized a total of 13,30,000 pieces of yaba tablets worth around Tk40cr in last two days. “A BGB team recovered the contraband tablets in a raid in Noyapara area Sunday morning,” Teknaf’s BGB Battalion 2 Commander Lt Col Abuzar Al Zahid told the Dhaka Tribune. Some 2,70,000 pieces of yaba worth around Tk8.10cr were seized from the same area in a separate drive on Saturday, the BGB commander added. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested six Myanmar citizens with 80,000 yaba pills along with a trawler on Saturday.
