4 bodies recovered in 3 districts

The incidents occurred on Friday

Four bodies have been recovered in Dhaka, Tangail and Kushtia districts.

In Dhaka, police recovered the body of a 26-year-old housewife, Sadiqun Nahar Sabina, from Banglamotor area.

The body was recovered from a house on New Eskaton road around 4pm on Friday.

Police arrested Sadiqun’s husband Kazi Masud in this regard.

Sadiqun’s cousin Yamin Sheikh said: “Following a dispute over Masud’s extramarital affair, Sadiqun was beaten up by her husband Tuesday night, after which she received primary treatment from Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”

Yamin added: “Afterwards, I was staying with my cousin, and on Friday morning, her health started deteriorating. Sadiqun was rushed to Holy Family Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

“Her body was bought back home and the police was informed.”

Hatirjheel police station Sub Inspector (SI) Shakil Joarder said: “We recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy."

In Tangail, a dead body of a missing person was found in the Jhinai River in Tangail. 

The deceased was identified as Akash Mazumder, 20 son of Harun Mazumder from Kalihati in Gopalpur upazila of Tangail district. 

The incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Friday.

Locals said Akash went to bathe in the river around 11am and went missing for two and a half hours.

Talking to Dhaka Tribune, Tangail fire service Deputy Assistant Director Abdur Razzak said a unit of fire service members recovered Akash's dead body after a 30 minute rescue operation.

He was mentally disabled, Abdur Razzak said.

In Kushtia, a dead body of a college student has been recovered by police.

The deceased was identified as Rakibul Hasan Hridoy, 18 son of Abdul Latif from Kathdohochor village in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia district.

The incident occurred around 12pm on Friday.

He was a student of Jessore Cantonment College.

Ahmadpur police outpost Sub Inspector (SI) Sulaiman Hossain said they found Rakibul's body in his bedroom. 

Police have sent his body for autopsy.

Another dead body of an unidentified 35-year-old was found from a canal in Dhubail union of Mirpur upazila in Kushtia.

The incident occurred around 11:30am on Friday.

Mirpur police station Officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Kalam said locals informed police after they spotted a floating body in the canal. 

Later, police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.
