At least three people have been killed in road accidents in Dhaka and Gazipur districts.
In Dhaka, A young man was killed after a vehicle hit his bicycle in the city’s Wari area.
The deceased is Tatalu Chandra, 23, of Jatrabari’s Dhalpur area.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Asaduzzaman of Wari police station told Dhaka Tribune that the vehicle crashed into Tatalu’s bicycle in front of Salauddin Specialized Hospital, around 11:30pm on Monday.
Locals rescued the critically injured Tatalu and took him to the nearby hospital for treatment.
As his condition deteriorated, Tatalu was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the on- duty doctors declared him dead around 1:30am on Tuesday, the police official added.
SI Asaduzzaman also said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue.
In Gazipur, two workers were killed as a concrete mixer truck crashed into a three-wheeler near Chandra area, adjacent to Dhaka-Tangail highway, in Kaliakoir upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased are Nazrul, 40, and Jarzid Hossain, 35, workers of a local factory named Walton.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Salna highway police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mozammel Hossain said the accident took place in front of Nandan Park around 7:30am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
He said, upon receiving the information, police went to the spot and recovered the bodies.
