A newlywed woman has allegedly been murdered by her husband in Jhenaidah'sKaliganjupazila.
Police recovered the decapitated body of Ayesha Begum Mim, 18, daughter of IdrisMandal of Kaliganj'sKashtabhanga village, from a lychee grove around 2pm on Friday.
Yunus Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kaliganj police station, confirmed the matter.
Eklas Ali, son of Hashem Ali of Kaliganj'sRaghunathpur village, married Ayesha after a love affair. However, Eklas' family rejected their marriage.
Police suspects that Eklas' family lured Ayesha to the lychee grove, on pretence of a Dhaka trip, on Thursday afternoon, where they gossiped till sunset.
The following night,Eklas allegedly decapitated his wife Ayesha with a sharp knife.
Police is yet to arrest the suspect, Eklas Ali, who fled away after the incident.
