Vehicular movement in Shimula Ferry ghat has been normalized, two days after congestion caused by a large number of vehicles gathered there.
At least 17 ferries, including four row-row ferries, are operating on Sunday, keeping only 30 vehicles in queue.
In the last 24-hours, ferry service was provided to 3,806 vehicles, including 179 buses, 88 trucks and 3,539 lighter vehicles. There have been 86 ferry trips in total.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation's (BIWTC) Shimulia ghat Deputy General Manager Nasir Mohammad Chowdhury said: "There is no congestion now and everything is running smoothly.
