Six dengue patients have died in Dhaka and Barisal early on Tuesday.
In Dhaka, Farzana Hossain, 43, from Narayanganj district, died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
She was the wife of Dr Md Ruhul Amin, deputy secretary of Health Economics Unit of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Dr Md Nasiruddin, assistant director (administration) of the hospital, confirmed her death.
She was admitted at DMCH in a critical condition on Monday.
Another person, Liton Mia, 25, from Wari, died at 10:15am while undergoing treatment at the hospital, said Dr Md Nasiruddin.
In Barisal, two people died from mosquito-borne dengue at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMC) on Tuesday.
The deceased are Aslam Khan, 24, from Bakerganj upazila and Mohammed Sohel, 18, from Pirojpur district.

Aslam died around 3:15am while Sohel died at 9am.
Dr Bakir Hossain, director of SBMC, confirmed the matter.
A woman died at Dhaka Trauma Centre and Specialized Hospital around 1:30pm on Tuesday.
The deceased, Akhter Joni Khan, 27, hailed from North Tartia village under Gharinda union of Tangail Sadar upazila. She used to live in Dhaka’s Rajarbagh area with her husband.
A man died at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

The deceased, Abdul Karim Sarker, 60, of Khodadia village under Kapasia Sadar union of Gazipur was first admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital and later moved to CMH, confirmed local Union Parishad member Abdur Rouf.
Although the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) says only eight people have so far died from the disease, the unofficial tally of reported deaths stood at over 42 until Tuiesday evening.
Between January 1 and July 30, at least 15,369 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.
