400 sued over Moulvibazar lynching incident

Police are working to arrest everyone involved in the incident

A case has been filed against 350 to 400 unnamed workers of a tea garden in Moulvibazar for beating an individual to death on suspicion of being a kidnapper.

Kamolganj police station Sub-Inspector Md Tofayel Ahmed filed the case on Monday night, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Arifur Rahman told Dhaka Tribune.

He said an unidentified man, aged around 55, was beaten to death by some workers of Dewachhara tea garden in Kamolganj upazila of the district on July 20.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed. However, police are working to arrest everyone who was involved in this incident, the OC added.
