Police arrested six members of a robber gang from different areas of Manikganj and Dhaka on Friday night, for a house robbery in Saturia upazila.
The arrested are Sohel Rana, 28, of Dhamrai upazila, Abu Sayeed, 27, of Keraniganj upazila in Dhaka, Imam Hossain, 36, and Rafiqul Islam, 27, of Sadar upazila in Pirojpur, Md Miraz, 34, of Rajapur upazila in Jhalakathi, and Mamun, 55, of Pabna.
On June 26, robbers looted gold ornaments and a large sum of cash from the house of Wasim Mia, a Bangladeshi living in Saudi Arabia.
Four family members were also injured in the robbery attack.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Mohiuddin Ahmed, said police first arrested Sohel tracing his mobile phone, and subsequently arrested the others, tracing their whereabouts on information from Sohel.
Police also recovered stolen goods and firearms from the robbers, ASP Mohiuddin said.
