Four arrested, five accused in Yaba drives in Barisal

The arrested were Mamun Haoladar and Rubel Haoladar, who got caught near Durgapur bus stand in the early hours of Friday

Police have arrested four drug traders and five others including two police officials in two separate Yaba drives in Barisal. 

The arrested were Mamun Haoladar and Rubel Haoladar, who got caught near Durgapur bus stand in the early hours of Friday. 

Barisal Police Station Sub Inspector (SI) confirmed the news: "We have recovered 2700 pieces of Yaba tablets and four mobiles from them."

"During interrogation, the arrestees confessed their crime that they collected Yaba from Laxmipur and were about to supply those to their Jhalakathi agents," he added. 

The arrestees were sent to jail under Narcotic control Act after producing them before the court Friday.  

In a separate incident, a local AL leader Md Babul, retired jail guard Abul Kalam, police constable Giasuddin, Halim Haoladar and Altaf Hossain were arrested by Airport Police Officers.

Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbub Ul Alam said Dhaka Tribune: "Due to family feuds over land properties, the accused planned to trap their nephew Habibur Rahman, with Yaba."

They also included a local AL leader Md Babul in their plan in lieu of Tk20,000, he further mentioned. 

Police sent the arrested to jail after producing them before the court on Thursday.
