Train communications between Dhaka and Bangladesh’s northern region have resumed following the derailment of a train compartment in Salna, Gazipur.
Confirming the matter, Joydebpur Railway Police camp in-charge Sub-Inspector Subrata Das said: “A compartment of the Dhaka-bound inter-city train, Rangpur Express, veered off the tracks around 9:30am on Friday—when it reached Salna—halting train communications on the route.
Around 2:30pm, the train communications resumed, he said.
No-one was injured in the accident.
Two trains, including Dhaka-bound Sirajganj Express remained stuck at Joydebpur Rail Station following the incident.
