World refugee day has been observed at the Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.
Non-governmental Organization Brac organized a colourful rally with refugees between the camp 3 and camp 1 east.
Around one hundred staffs of Communication for Development (C4D) Program participated during the event.
Abul Kalam Azad, commissioner at Rohingya Refugee Repatriation Commission, Abdus Salam, head of Humanitarian Crisis Management Program at Brac, among others, were present at the program.
The World Refugee Day, held on June 20 each year, honours the courage and determination of those who have been forced to flee their homes.
This year, the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR is asking people from all walks of life to join the #StepWithRefugees global challenge in solidarity with refugees who each year trek 1 billion miles to reach the nearest point of safety.
