A woman was reportedly raped by her boyfriend at a bus counter in Galachipa area of Narayanganj Sadar upazila.
The woman filed a case against one Sunny, 24, with Narayanganj Sadar police station on Monday afternoon.
According to the case statement, the woman had an affair with Sunny for six months after they met at a marriage ceremony in Chittagong.
On Friday, she came from Chittagong to meet Sunny in Narayanganj and was allegedly raped the same day.
Following the incident, Sunny and the woman started shouting at each other near Shyamoli bus counter in the area.
When bystanders got involved in their shouting match, Sunny escaped in the ensuing chaos.
The woman also claimed that a police official, Sub-Inspector Saiful, who took her to the police station helped Sunny to escape.
SI Saiful denied the allegation against him when asked about the incident.
Narayanganj Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Kamrul Islam said: "The woman has already been sent for medical tests and it will take at least a month to get the report.
"We tried our best to arrest the accused by conducting a drive in Munshiganj with the help of Sunny's mother. But the mother tricked us and now is on the run. We are trying to arrest them," added OC Kamrul.
Narayanganj General Hospital Resident Medical Officer Dr Asaduzzaman said: "We can't be sure of rape until the woman's medical test report arrives."
Meanwhile, the woman has threatened to kill herself if she doesn't get justice of her rape.
Her father said: "My daughter's mother passed away. She asked for Tk500 and left home saying that she is going to visit her friend's house. Since then, I lost contact with her."
